HDDs and SSDs in the 2.5" form factor are getting more and more popular as their storage capacity is growing and especially SSDs offer far greater transfer rates than traditional HDDs. It is a logical consequence to employ them in servers. That's why ICY BOX offers a mobile rack that fits into a single 3.5" unit and holds 1x 2.5" SATA/SAS HDDs or SSDs. The height of the HDDs may even be 15 mm, for greatest storage capacity.
Made of sturdy steel and high-grade aluminum, this matt black mobile rack is particularly suitable for use in industrial environments. It can accommodate SATA III or SAS hard drives and it is lockable.
Due to the quality of the metal this mobile rack is resistant against vibrations and other external influences, but also conducts waste heat thoroughly. Without an additional fan he remains silent. The mobile rack is integrated via SATA power and data connection to the server.
There are several LEDs so you can see the status of your HDDs at any time. The green circular LED indicates that the mobile rack is connected to the power. Another LED below the drive tray glows blue and signals that the hard drive is connected, and flashes red when accessing.
