2big RAID 8TB: Desk Friendly Backup

Perfect for the studio

Reducing the feature set on the Dock and taking the form factor, the 2big RAID is a reliable solution from LaCie and backed with Seagate's specialised RAID drives for protecting your data. The small real estate it takes up on the desk makes it ideal for individual users to always have a RAID drive on hand.

Because it uses USB-C Gen 2, you're getting support for your Thunderbolt 3/USB-C enabled desktop or laptop and typical inputs, via a USB A converter for USB 3.0.

RAID made simple

When in RAID 0, you'll be able to store 520 hours of 4K footage and get a max transfer speed of 440 MB/s. With Seagate's IronWolf Pro drives, you'll get security of 1.2 million hours MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), these drives mean business and are made for long running NAS or RAID setups, so you won't have to fret about drives failing on you. Even if they do, LaCie provide a 5-year warranty on their 2big RAIDs.

RAID 1 provides a redundancy mirror mode. Everything that is saved to one drive will be on the other. JBOD (Just a Bunch of Disks) gives you two independent drives inside the 2big enclosure, without any of the RAID benefits.

Connectivity

USB-C

USB-C provides universal compatibility across the board, with adapters allowing you to access the drive via USB-A and Thunderbolt 3 only laptops (like Macbooks) being compatible with the device too. With USB-C, you'll also get incredibly quick speeds for accessing the large files stored on the drive as well.
